Do You Have What It Takes?

Miss Black Wisconsin 2008-09        Nzingha Thompson

Text Box: Nzingha is a proud Milwaukee native and thrilled to serve as your Miss Black Wisconsin USA. She is a graduate of Howard University, where she obtained a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism from the John H. Johnson School of Communications. Nzingha is currently a spokesperson for the 50 Million Pound Challenge and is passionate about giving people the resources and tools they need to maintain a balanced active lifestyle.

The 50 Million Pound Challenge was created to provide resources to people that might not otherwise have access. Dr. Ian Smith and State Farm Insurance created the challenge because of the health crisis in the Black community. Miss Black Wisconsin says “There is a health crisis in our society and especially among people of color. It is time to take weight-loss-action and it’s so easy to do this with the 50 Million Pound Challenge using the website and The Challenge Kit.”

The Miss Black USA Pageant celebrates being smart in body, mind and spirit. So it's only fitting that this year's delegates have joined The Challenge.

Nzingha lives by the quote "A Queen is not a Queen because she failed; but a Queen is a Queen because failure did not stop her."
